Position Summary:

The Facilities Support & Delivery Associate is a full-time, jack-of-all-trades position supporting the daily operations of Dayton Humane & Co. Resale Boutique. This physically active role involves picking up large donated items from homes and businesses, safely transporting them to the store, and ensuring they are delivered in excellent condition. This is an ideal position for someone who is handy, has strong organizational skills, and enjoys working both independently and as part of a mission-driven team. We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and passionate about supporting our community and animals.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Safely load, transport, and unload donated furniture and large items from donor locations to the store using a 26-ft box truck or other organization vehicles.
  • Provide courteous, professional customer service during all donation pickups and deliveries.

  • Repair, clean, paint, and touch up donated furniture or home goods to prepare them for resale.
  • Perform general maintenance tasks for the store, including light handyman work, basic repairs, painting, and upkeep of the physical space.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the loading dock, donation intake areas, and storage rooms.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of the store truck and equipment; complete regular vehicle checks and report any issues.
  • Run errands as needed to support store operations, including picking up supplies or tools.
  • Coordinate closely with staff and volunteers to schedule and execute donation pickups, deliveries, and furniture assembly tasks.
  • Support special events, offsite donation efforts, and vendor markets by assisting with transport and setup.
  • Complete online mover certification training (provided and paid for by the organization).
  • Adapt to a variety of tasks each day — this is a highly hands-on, jack-of-all-trades role that supports nearly every aspect of the store’s operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Positive attitude and helpful, courteous approach to resolving questions with donors and staff.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
