See Us In Action
These 33 animals came to us from one of the most s These 33 animals came to us from one of the most severe neglect cases we’ve ever seen. Many cats, a dog, and even an opossum were found living in filth, darkness, and extreme neglect, with some unable to move freely in cages layered with waste.

From the moment they arrived at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, our veterinary team jumped into action. They received lifesaving care, treatment for infections, injuries, and parasites, and a safe space to finally rest.

Watch their journey from despair to comfort. Soft bedding, fresh food, and clean spaces gave these animals relief for the first time in a very long time. 💛

Thanks to our community, these animals now have a second chance at recovery and one day a loving home.

We opened the doors to our new MeowZa Cat Boutique We opened the doors to our new MeowZa Cat Boutique location nearly a week ago. By securing a location next door to @shop_humane, we were able to bring our missions together and provide a place to support and adopt animals all under the same roof.

We would like to thank the @cityofcentervilleoh for the wonderful ribbon cutting ceremony, and the community for their generous support on opening day. We look forward to serving you and we hope that you will visit our store very soon!

If you have been following Theodore’s story, this If you have been following Theodore’s story, this update means everything. This is the power of fostering, and exactly why it matters so much.

Just days ago, Theodore was overwhelmed, anxious, and barking his voice away in the shelter. Now, thanks to one of our amazing fosters stepping up, he is calm, relaxed, cuddly, and finally able to be himself.

Here is what Theodore's foster shared:

“Sweet ole Theodore has settled in so well these last few days! He seriously is an amazing misunderstood pup who was just scared and anxious in the shelter! Boy o boy does he love to have his belly in the air & to chase his own tail lol ❤️❤️”

This is the Theodore we always knew was there.

Fostering gave Theo the chance to decompress and show who he really is, but his story is not finished yet. Our end goal for Theodore is a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and truly belong.

Theodore is extremely anxious around other animals, so we recommend he be the only pet in the home. In the right environment, he thrives and shines.

If you are looking to adopt a sweet senior boy who just needed someone to believe in him, Theodore is still waiting for his forever family. hsdayton.org/adopt/dogs
