When Will We Open?

Dayton Humane & Co. will be located in the former Marshall’s store within Cross Pointe Shopping Center, 101 E. Alex Bell Road in Centerville.

Currently, we are scheduled to open Dayton Humane & Co. in March 2025!

Where Can You Donate?

We are accepting donations now at the new storefront as we prepare for our Grand Opening.

Dayton Humane & Co. will be accepting your new or gently used donations at the our storefront at Cross Pointe Shopping Center, 101 E. Alex Bell Road in Centerville:

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What You Can and Can't Donate

Donation Guidelines

We greatly appreciate your support in donating to Dayton Humane & Co. Before donating an item, please follow our guidelines below to make your donation experience easy.

  • All donation items should be clean
  • Items should have no stains, holes, dirt, odors from smoke, pet hair, etc.
  • Furniture pieces should be clean with no large scratches, stains, rips or odors.
  • Electronic devices and appliances need to be in working order and clean with no missing parts.
  • Board games and puzzles should be complete and with no missing parts.
  • All donations should be free of water damage, mold or mildew.
  • All items previously a part of a garage sale or yard sale should have all price tags removed prior to donating.

Donation Items We Accept

Currently we are able to take clean, usable items including:

  • Seasonal decor
  • Seasonal clothing of all ages
  • Purses, jewelry, shoes and accessories
  • Housewares, cookware and kitchen items
  • Home decor such as wall art, picture frames, candles and candle holders, vases and much more
  • Small electronics
  • Furniture (please call before bringing in to see if we can accept your item – this will be determined on a case-by-case basis)
  • Sporting good items (skis, golf clubs, roller blades, etc.)
  • Exercise equipment (considered on a case-by-case basis)
  • Area rugs
  • Bicycles
  • Pet items
  • Vintage, antique or collectible items
  • Media such as books, vinyl records, DVDs, CDs, VHS and video games
  • Board games
  • Musical instruments
  • Toys
  • Craft & hobby items
  • Small garage tools
  • And Much More

Items We Can Not Accept

Following the guidelines of the Consumer Protection Safety Council, we are not allowed to accept items that have been recalled or deemed unsafe.

Items we can not accept at Dayton Humane & Co. include:

  • Helmets of any type
  • Used blankets or towels (These items can be donated directly to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton at 1661 Nicholas Road)
  • Used bed sheets or pillows
  • Curtains
  • Medium and Large Household Appliances (Please call before dropping off, we will determine if we can accept these on a case-by-case basis)
  • Baby Furniture including strollers, car seats, cribs, walkers, high chairs, etc.
  • Office Electronics including desktop computers, laptops, scanners, printers, fax machines, shredders, etc.
  • Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) Televisions or computer monitors
  • Heaters, appliances or any item that uses liquid fuel (ex. kerosene, gasoline, diesel, propane, etc.)
  • Beds including sleeper sofas, waterbeds, mattresses or box springs
  • Building materials (including items such as sinks, toilets, lumber, pipes, plumbing fixtures, carpet, windows, doors, etc.)
  • Automotive parts
  • Paint or chemicals of any kind
  • Encyclopedias
  • Food
  • Any broken or non-working items
  • Any game, puzzle or toy with missing parts
  • Used underwear or undergarments
  • Damaged clothing with tears, stains, holes, etc.
  • Fur coats and fur hats
  • Guns and ammunition
  • Used blankets, sheets & towels (these items can be donated directly to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton at 1661 Nicholas Road)
  • Used shower curtains or shades
  • Magazines
  • Plastic water bottles
  • Plastic Tupperware
  • Used cosmetics or health and beauty products

We reserve the right to refuse any donation that we do not deem sellable.
