The Humane Society of Greater Dayton (HSGD) is proud to be a no-kill organization that has been serving the animals and people of the Miami Valley since 1902. The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is currently looking for a part-time Off-Site Adoption Event Specialist.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Scheduling and coordinating adoption events
  • Maintaining event schedule and calendar
  • Recruiting volunteers and Offsite Event Specialists to work events
  • Gathering information about event and communicating with HSGD staff, event partners, and volunteers
  • Having event e-mail templates and photos ready at least 24hrs before event
  • Running, managing and representing the Humane Society of Greater Dayton at community events and off-site adoption events if needed
  • Making HSGD present with adoptable animals and literature at targeted events throughout the Miami Valley
  • Working with volunteers, training volunteers and promoting the goals of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Willing to work weekends and evenings as needed
  • Able to work alone and alongside volunteers
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-motivated
  • Outgoing
  • Time management skills
  • Genuine interest in animal welfare – an ideal candidate would possess previous event and/or animal experience, although willing to train the right person.
  • Succinct communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to organize thoughts in a logical, clear and concise manner
  • Organization and planning skills
