Mahogany has been stuck on the sidelines for a whi Mahogany has been stuck on the sidelines for a while, but this big guy is FINALLY back in the game and looking for a forever home! 🏈🤎

Mahogany has been with us since April. He was brought in by our Humane Society Agent due to a neglectful situation. Then, a back injury put his adoption plans on hold while he rested, recovered, and got some pretty fancy specialist care.

He may still need a little time before he’s back to 100%, but Mahogany is feeling SO much better and his personality is back in full force. ❤️

And this guy is FUN. He loves toys, enrichment, walks, and having something to keep that big brain busy. He can be a little reserved when meeting new people, but once you earn his trust, you’ve got yourself one seriously devoted teammate.

Mahogany has spent long enough watching from the sidelines. Now he just needs someone to draft him onto their team. 🥹🏈 Learn more about Mahogany: hsdayton.org/adopt/dogs

🚨 BREAKING: THE DAYTON GOAT HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER 🚨 BREAKING: THE DAYTON GOAT HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER HOME! 🐐❤️

We shared Cardio’s story yesterday, and in LESS THAN 24 HOURS, our favorite alleged vandal has officially found his forever home... during National Farm Animal Awareness Week, no less! 🥹

Cardio is headed to his new home at @delilahsplaceatgc, a sanctuary where he’ll get the safe and loving farm life we were hoping to find for him. No more run-ins with the law. No more street life. And hopefully... no more picking fights with his reflection in parked cars. 😂

Thank you SO much to Delilah's Place for adopting, an to everyone who shared Cardio’s story to help Dayton’s most notorious goat find his people. His alleged life of crime is officially behind him!

Case closed. ⚖️🐐❤️

Remember that goat who went a little viral for all Remember that goat who went a little viral for allegedly roaming Dayton and picking fights with parked cars? Yeah... We have him. 😂🐐

Meet Cardio, aka the “Dayton Goat,” aka an alleged vandal who eventually found himself being detained by Dayton Police.

In his defense, there WAS another male goat staring him down and clearly looking for trouble. Unfortunately, that "other goat" may have been his reflection... Cardio’s attorney has advised him not to bleet further. ⚖️

Our vets believe Cardio is a young Oberhasli wether, around a year old. Despite his alleged criminal history, he’s actually a pretty timid guy who needs time to bond with people and build trust.

Snacks? Absolutely. He’ll take those right from your hand!

Petting? Still under investigation... 😂 Cardio isn’t quite sure whether you’re trying to be friends and play, or assert dominance and challenge him to a duel, so he needs patient people who can show him humans aren’t so scary.

More than anything, though, we think Cardio is lonely in the stables by himself. ❤️ He can hear the dogs nearby and will climb up to peek out, bleating and looking for some animal companionship.

Cardio is ready to trade his life of alleged vandalism for a safe and loving farm life. No more run-ins with the law! 🐐 He’s looking for an appropriate goat home, potentially some animal friends, patient people willing to earn his trust, and, for everyone’s sake, a reasonable distance from parked cars. 😂

What do you get when you combine cake, crafts and What do you get when you combine cake, crafts and a room full of adorable animals? The BEST birthday party ever!

If your child would choose a puppy or kitten over a bounce house any day of the week, we've got the perfect party venue. Celebrate their special day at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton!

For just $150, birthday parties include:

• Two hours of fun for the birthday child and 8–10 friends
• One hour of staff-led games, crafts or service projects
• A tour of the shelter (when age appropriate)
• A party T-shirt for guests to sign and decorate
• A meet-and-greet with a shelter animal
• One hour of family time for presents, cake and cupcakes

Want to go all out with decorations? Bring them! Prefer to keep it simple? That's perfectly fine, too. Families provide their own decorations, cake or cupcakes and party supplies, so you can make the celebration as festive—or as low-key—as you like.

You'll have 30 minutes before the party to set up, and our staff will help with tear-down afterward.

And while the kids are celebrating, they're also helping animals in need. That's a birthday worth celebrating!

Ready to make some birthday memories with furry friends? Learn more and schedule your party at www.hsdayton.org/birthday.
