Meet Olive. 🐰💚 Olive has been through a lot. Afte Meet Olive. 🐰💚

Olive has been through a lot. After her owner sadly passed away, this sweet girl found herself searching for a new place to call home. While she's a little shy at first, all she really needs is a little patience and kindness to let her true personality shine.

Once she feels comfortable, Olive loves gentle pets and will happily soak up the attention. She's a quiet, affectionate bunny who enjoys spending time with the people she trusts.

But don't let her sweet nature fool you. Olive has a wonderfully sassy side, too! When she's decided she's had enough cuddles, she'll make her opinion known by tossing her toys or rearranging her space. It's her funny little way of saying, "Okay, that's enough for today." We think it makes her even more lovable.

Olive is looking for someone who understands that trust takes time and that every bunny has their own unique personality. If you're ready to give this gentle girl the fresh start she deserves, she just might be the perfect addition to your family.

🌡️ Heat Advisory: Protect Your Pets This Summer 🌡️ Heat Advisory: Protect Your Pets This Summer

Extreme heat can be dangerous for pets, and they can overheat much faster than we do. A few simple precautions can make a big difference in keeping your furry family members safe.

💧 Keep water available at all times. Make sure pets always have access to fresh, cool water and a shaded place to rest.

🚶 Walk wisely. Hot pavement can burn sensitive paws in seconds. If it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their paws. Aim for early morning or late evening walks.

🚗 Never leave a pet in a parked car. Temperatures inside a vehicle can become deadly within minutes, even with the windows cracked.

🥵 Know the signs of heatstroke. Watch for excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, disorientation, or collapse. Move your pet to a cool area, offer cool (not ice) water, and seek veterinary care immediately.

🏡 Help them stay cool. Keep pets indoors during the hottest parts of the day when possible, or provide a cool, shaded area with good airflow.

Remember: if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them. Stay safe, stay cool, and enjoy your summer! ☀️💙 #HeatSafety #PetSafety #SummerSafety #HSDayton

Once he knows you, he's happy to accept pets and show off just how sweet he is.

When he's not making new friends, you'll probably find him enjoying a tasty treat or watching birds outside through the window.

Exciting update about Whisper! Over the weekend, W Exciting update about Whisper!
Over the weekend, Whisper was safely trapped and returned to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.

This outcome would not have been possible without the incredible dedication of Kylie Shafer and Eye In The Sky - Drone Animal Recovery. They were truly the driving force behind bringing Whisper back to us, spending countless hours tracking her movements, monitoring the area, and helping guide every step of the trapping plan. Their persistence and expertise made the difference when it mattered most.

Whisper, one of our shy shelter dogs, went missing two weeks ago during a Doggy Day Out at Hills & Dales MetroPark after slipping away from a volunteer. Our team spent many hours trying to catch her, but because of her fearful nature and history as a stray who was previously trapped, we knew getting her back safely was going to take patience, strategy, and the right support.

Alongside Kylie and Eye in the Sky, we are also so grateful to All Paws Matter for lending their Missy Trap, Five Rivers MetroParks for allowing us to set up traps and for their officers who helped reset them each day, and Snyder Brick and Block for reporting sightings and allowing access to their property so we could stay close to where Whisper was moving.

Thank you to every single person who shared posts, called in sightings, or kept an eye out for her. Every bit of help mattered, and just proves what can happen when a community comes together. After two long weeks outdoors, navigating a scary and uncertain time, Whisper is now safe, back with us, and doing well.

Whisper is now available for adoption again. We’re so hopeful this sweet, sensitive girl will finally find the calm, loving home she deserves.

Meet Potato 🐰💛 This cheerful little guy arrived a Meet Potato 🐰💛

This cheerful little guy arrived as a stray, but he made it clear right away that he’s all about friendliness and fun. Potato enjoys gentle pets, toys he can toss and rearrange (stacking cups are a favorite), and plenty of room to zoom around and celebrate life with happy binkies.

He’s playful, affectionate, and has a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body. He can get quite particular about his toys and their “proper” placement, so don’t be surprised if you occasionally get a very serious look reminding you that his setup mattered. He also isn't the biggest fan of being held, even though he is very friendly and personable.

With enrichment, space, and love, Potato is sure to bring nonstop joy and entertainment to his future home. 💛

Ready to meet him? visit hsdayton.org/adopt/small-animals

Thank you to @athertonplumbing for helping support shelter animals like Potato while they wait for their forever homes.
