We want to take a moment to share our deep gratitu We want to take a moment to share our deep gratitude for another incredibly heartfelt donation made in honor of a loved one. 💛 Ashley Copper generously donated 20 gift bags, one for each dog in our kennels, filled with toys, treats, and cozy blankets. She also included stuffed bears and doggy charcuterie packages, bringing comfort, enrichment, and so much joy to our shelter dogs. One of the pups who got to enjoy this special gift was Betty, an 8-month-old Shar Pei who is still waiting for her forever home. Donations like this not only bring comfort and happiness to dogs like Betty while they wait, but also remind them they are loved and seen. After the heartbreaking loss of her 12-year-old daughter in October, Ashley shared that giving back and helping others has been one of the ways she has found comfort during an unimaginable time. This holiday season, she chose to honor her daughter’s memory by showing love to dogs who need it most. We are also incredibly thankful to the Beavercreek News Current, the @xeniagazette, and @wdtn for sharing Ashley’s story and helping spread this message of compassion and kindness. By lifting up stories like hers, they inspire others to give, to remember, and to make a difference for animals in need. Moments like this remind us how love can live on through generosity. After spending time in a foster home, she’s learning that the world can be kind and that love can be safe. She has a thyroid condition that’s well managed with easy medication, and while her eyesight isn’t perfect and quick movements can startle her, once she trusts you, Ellis truly shines. She becomes a soft, affectionate companion who gives the sweetest little nudges for attention. Ellis would thrive in a calm, patient home where she can continue to blossom at her own pace. ❤️🥹 Today, our hearts were deeply touched. 🥹❤️ A ❤️🥹 Today, our hearts were deeply touched. 🥹❤️ A very kind and generous person came into our shelter earlier today with a large donation, lots of food for our shelter dogs and cats, and other supplies. But it wasn’t just the size of the donation that moved us, it was the story behind it. He shared that he was honoring his wife, who had recently passed. She had always dreamed of helping shelter animals and making a meaningful impact, but she wasn’t able to see it happen. Through his donation, her dream came to life. He told us he plans to make this an annual tradition, continuing to honor her love for animals year after year. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank this incredible donor, not only for helping our animals stay fed, warm, and cared for, but for keeping his wife’s spirit and compassion alive in such a beautiful, loving way.
