Bret’s story is one we will never forget 💛 He was Bret’s story is one we will never forget 💛 He was named in honor of a man who showed incredible kindness to the animals in our care. Alongside his sister and cousin, he gave generously, time and time again. Over the years, their family has donated tens of thousands of dollars and carloads of essential supplies, always showing up for pets who needed them most. Even after his passing, that love never stopped. His family continues to carry on his legacy with the same compassion and dedication. Then came Bret. He was found abandoned in a dog park, unsure of the world around him. The shelter was loud and overwhelming, and for many months, Bret waited. He was overlooked, misunderstood, and still searching for the place he belonged. Recently, his namesake’s family made another generous donation in his honor. But Bret wasn’t there to see it. Because after all that waiting… he was on an adoption trial. And just a few days later, Bret was officially adopted. From abandoned to adored. From waiting to finally being home. A life changed by kindness. A legacy that lives on. To Bret’s family, thank you. Bret is settling in beautifully and is happy, and thriving in his new home. This playful, confident, snuggly guy has come a long way. From booping noses to showing he can get along with other dogs, Bret has proven just how amazing he truly is. With his START trainer (SAVE dogs’ lives, TRAIN adoptable shelter dogs, ADOPT trained dogs to families, REMAIN TOGETHER forever) right next door, we know he is in the best hands and his future is full of love, fun, and adventure.
