Last week we had an incredible group from LexisNex Last week we had an incredible group from LexisNexis volunteer with us, and we are so grateful for the time and support they gave to help keep our shelter clean and our animals well cared for. While posing for their group photo, a sweet dog named Stormie was brought out to meet and thank the team for their hard work. For most, it was a meaningful moment capturing a day of teamwork, support, and love, but for one volunteer, it became the start of a connection she just couldn’t shake. After the group left for the day, Stormie stayed on that volunteer's mind. She couldn’t stop thinking about her… she came back later with her family to see Stormie again. but this time, Stormie got to go home! Sometimes a simple act of kindness can turn into a forever home for a shelter animal. A big thank you to the LexisNexis group for supporting our mission and showing up for the animals in our care. Kodiak is back from foster and hanging out at the Kodiak is back from foster and hanging out at the front desk today… and yes, he brought his lamby with him 🐑❤️ This stunning 2-year-old red husky mix is everything you’d expect and then some. Playful, energetic, and full of personality, Kodiak is always on the move and ready to turn any moment into an adventure! He’s got that fun-loving, carefree outlook on life and doesn’t waste time overthinking… he just goes for it. Including making absolutely sure he marked that tree… and then double checking… and maybe checking again just to be safe 😂 Kodiak is here today as part of our foster pet pop-in, so this is your chance to meet him without an appointment. He’s also officially back from foster and will be staying with us in kennels, so if you don’t make it in today, you’ll still have a chance to stop by and meet him. It’s Bulldogs Are Beautiful Day, but Zazu has info It’s Bulldogs Are Beautiful Day, but Zazu has informed us that we’ve all been saying it wrong. According to his very confident (and slightly biased) opinion, he is actually an “American Bowldog.” 🥣 Most dogs want a tennis ball. Some want a bone. Zazu? Zazu wants kitchenware. He doesn’t just play with his metal bowl, it is his lifestyle. It’s his emotional support object. It’s his percussion instrument of choice. If it’s round, metal, and makes a satisfying clank when it hits the floor, he is 100% committed. But here’s the thing, his love for that bowl is actually one of the most beautiful things about him. It is pure joy. He finds absolute magic in something so simple, and he carries it around like it is the most precious trophy in the world. 🏆 When he isn’t busy with his “music,” Zazu is the ultimate snuggler. He is that classic bulldog “leaner” who will press his whole self into you just to be close. He is silly, sturdy, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s constant companion. Bulldogs are beautiful because they are full of personality, heart, and humor, and Zazu is no exception.
