Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in our communit Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in our community 💙

To the ones raising tiny humans, caring for four-legged family members, or doing both at the same time, today we celebrate you. The patience, the late nights, the early mornings, the treats sneaked under the table, and all the love in between.

Whether you are guiding little hands or holding a leash, you make a difference every single day.

Wishing you a day filled with appreciation, rest, and plenty of love from all your “kids,” no matter how many legs they have 🐾

If you're looking for a cat with a big personality If you're looking for a cat with a big personality, Trombone is ready to steal the show!

This handsome guy loves attention and never seems to get enough pets. Whether he's climbing to the highest perch he can find, investigating something new, or curling up for cuddles, Trombone is always keeping life interesting.

Curious, affectionate, and delightfully silly, he has a way of turning everyday moments into entertainment. One minute he's exploring his surroundings like a fearless adventurer, and the next he's soaking up affection like it's his full-time job.

Trombone is the total package: playful, cuddly, and guaranteed to keep you smiling.

Trombone is also front declawed. While declawing is no longer a recommended practice and is not a procedure our veterinarians perform, Trombone doesn't let it slow him down one bit. He's still an active, happy cat with plenty of love, personality, and purrs to share.

Stop by our open cat room to meet him in person, or apply to adopt at hsdayton.org/adopt/small-cats

When Nico arrived at our shelter on May 11, he was When Nico arrived at our shelter on May 11, he was one of the most emaciated dogs we've seen in recent years. Every rib, every bone, and every weary step told a story of neglect and hardship. But Nico never gave up.

Thanks to immediate veterinary care and the unconditional love of a foster family, something incredible happened. Day by day, meal by meal, tail wag by tail wag, Nico began to heal. Today, he has achieved a 100% increase in body weight and is thriving.

Nico's story is proof that foster families save lives. They provide frightened, fragile animals with the time, comfort, and love they need to recover, rebuild their confidence, and become the pets they were always meant to be.

Now, the dog who fought so hard for a second chance is ready for his forever home.

If you'd like to adopt Nico, visit hsdayton.org/dogs to learn more and complete an adoption application.

If Nico's story touched your heart, please consider becoming a foster family. Because somewhere out there is another animal just like Nico, waiting for someone to help them beat the odds.
