Meet a few of our bonded besties: 🐶 Ramona & Rufus — Ravishing Weimaraners who were rescued roaming the roads together. Playful, smart, and always up for fun, they’re true ride-or-die besties. 🐕 Heaven & Mimi — An unlikely but unbreakable bond. Heaven the loyal German Shepherd and Mimi the tiny teacup Yorkie do life side-by-side and love to cuddle. 🐰 Gandalf & Violet — Sweet bunnies who love each other deeply and are ready to hop into a loving home. 🐹 Tuxe & Poppy — Snack-time buddies for life. These guinea pigs love munching veggies together and squeaking for treats. 🐱 Mario & Yoshi — FeLV+ kittens who stick together through thick and thin. Willow has been at the shelter since December 2024 Willow has been at the shelter since December 2024 after a heartbreaking incident. She was one of the pups who was sadly thrown over a fence and dumped. Understandably, this left her feeling scared and unsure of people. But beneath her nervousness is a sweet, gentle soul just waiting for someone to help her feel safe and loved. When Willow first arrived, she was frozen with fear, shaking, and needed to be carried everywhere. On top of that, she had cherry eye, but thanks to our wonderful Dayton Humane vet team, she had corrective surgery and is feeling so much better now. Since then, Willow has taken HUGE steps. She’s now going on walks, exploring the yard, and even getting playful little zoomies with volunteers she has grown to trust. We are so proud of Willow’s incredible progress. A big part of her journey comes from her weekly START training with Dayton Dog Training Club, where confident dogs show her it’s okay to be brave. Willow follows their lead and gains confidence every day. Because of this, we believe Willow would thrive best in a home with another dog to help guide her. Willow’s ready to trust again, but she needs someone who will give her time, patience, and unconditional love. Could that be YOU?
