The Humane Society of Greater Dayton is proud to announce that for more than a decade, the organization has consistently earned Charity Navigator’s highest 4-star rating—and now, it has reached a new milestone: a perfect 100% rating.
According to Charity Navigator, out of more than 200,000 nonprofits they evaluate each year, only 32 percent have a 4-star rating with a score between 90 and 100 percent. Far fewer achieve a flawless 100 percent, making this accomplishment a rare and significant honor.
Charity Navigator is the largest and most-utilized charity evaluator in America. The organization helps guide intelligent giving by evaluating the financial health, accountability, and transparency of more 200,000 charities.
“Fiscal responsibility is something we take very seriously at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton,” said Brian Weltge, President & CEO of the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. “As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that relies solely on donations to fund all of our programs and services, we know how important it is to be transparent with our supporters. We want the community to know that we are deeply grateful for their generosity, and that every dollar they give is used responsibly, ethically, and in ways that directly impact the lives of thousands of animals every year here in the Miami Valley.”
The Humane Society of Greater Dayton has also been recognized by other organizations for its commitment to fiscal integrity. The nonprofit has maintained a continuous Platinum Seal of Transparency from Guidestar and is a past recipient of the BBB Eclipse Integrity Award, among other honors at both the local and national levels.
