Don’t Let Your Pet be a Hot Mess This Summer – Avoid the Hot Cars

Here’s the pawsitive news: summer is finally here! But with sunshine comes scorching temperatures, and that can spell big trouble for our furry friends. Leaving your pet in a hot car can be a recipe for disaster, turning it into a furnace in just minutes. Even with the windows cracked, a parked car can trap heat, leading to heatstroke, organ damage, or even worse.

So, how can you keep your best bud cool while you run errands? Here are some tips from the Humane Society of Greater Dayton that won’t leave you or your dog feeling ruff:

Remember, pets can overheat much faster than humans. If you see a pet in distress in a hot car, don’t hesitate to call 911 immediately. Your quick action could save a life!

Let’s make this summer a time for belly rubs, zoomies in the park, and endless tail wags! With a little planning, you can keep your furry friend safe and happy all season long. So, ditch the hot car and have a doggone good summer with your best bud!
