On December 31st, 2021, the world collectively mourned the loss of a legendary actress, comedian and animal advocate – Betty White.

Betty White warmed the hearts of the world with her infectious smile and pure heart. One of her greatest passions in life was her advocacy in animal welfare. She lit up whenever she was around animals and devoted her life to the ethical care and treatment of all animals.

To honor her memory and her passion for animals, the community is coming together to donate to animal shelters all across the country on what would be her 101st birthday. We are celebrating not only a beloved figure to so many in our community but are also honoring her memory and a lifetime devoted to being a voice for the voiceless. On January 17, 2023, we hope you honor Betty White’s commitment to animals by supporting a local animal welfare group such as the Humane Society of Greater Dayton. Like Betty, we are committed to the animals in our community and as a no-kill animal welfare agency we are proud to help place thousands of animals into loving forever homes every single year.

We hope that her advocacy will transcend generations and inspire us all to be a little kinder to animals.

In Her Words

You can always tell about people by the way they put their hands on an animal.
