❄️ Winter in the Miami Valley can be unforgiving, ❄️ Winter in the Miami Valley can be unforgiving, and for the community cats who live outdoors, finding a warm, dry place to sleep is not just about comfort, it is about survival. 🐾

A simple DIY shelter can mean the difference between a cat struggling through a freezing night or resting safely in a pocket of warmth. 🏠🐱

🛠️ How You Can Help
Building an insulated shelter is a direct way to show compassion to the cats in your neighborhood. Using simple, affordable materials like plastic bins and straw, you can create a safe, cozy space that keeps wind and snow at bay.

You can build a shelter for a cat you see regularly or make extra shelters to donate. We will make sure donated shelters reach the community cats who need them most. ❤️

🎥 Watch the full DIY guide here: https://youtu.be/jwXhiLGeWRc

We accept completed community cat shelters and other donations during our open hours: 📅 Tuesday–Friday 1–6 pm and Saturday 12–4 pm

Every shelter helps a cat survive the cold and reminds them they are cared for. Thank you for spreading warmth this winter. ❄️🐾🧡

🍎 Meet Apple Dumpling! Apple Dumpling is an 8-yea 🍎 Meet Apple Dumpling!

Apple Dumpling is an 8-year-old sweetheart who feels like the warmth of a cozy winter day. This gentle, loving senior cat enjoys curling up in soft spots and spending quiet moments with someone who cares. Despite slight vision challenges, she moves gracefully and adapts quickly with a little patience and love.

Apple Dumpling thrives on attention. She adores soft pets, gentle snuggles, and simply being near people. Her calm, affectionate nature makes her a favorite wherever she goes, and she will happily purr the moment she feels your love.

Apple Dumpling does have a heart murmur, but with a calm, loving home, she can enjoy many happy years ahead. She is looking for a peaceful forever home where she can lounge on a comfy couch, soak up attention, and feel safe and cherished.

We want to take a moment to share our deep gratitu We want to take a moment to share our deep gratitude for another incredibly heartfelt donation made in honor of a loved one. 💛

Ashley Copper generously donated 20 gift bags, one for each dog in our kennels, filled with toys, treats, and cozy blankets. She also included stuffed bears and doggy charcuterie packages, bringing comfort, enrichment, and so much joy to our shelter dogs.

One of the pups who got to enjoy this special gift was Betty, an 8-month-old Shar Pei who is still waiting for her forever home. Donations like this not only bring comfort and happiness to dogs like Betty while they wait, but also remind them they are loved and seen.

After the heartbreaking loss of her 12-year-old daughter in October, Ashley shared that giving back and helping others has been one of the ways she has found comfort during an unimaginable time. This holiday season, she chose to honor her daughter’s memory by showing love to dogs who need it most.

We are also incredibly thankful to the Beavercreek News Current, the @xeniagazette, and @wdtn for sharing Ashley’s story and helping spread this message of compassion and kindness. By lifting up stories like hers, they inspire others to give, to remember, and to make a difference for animals in need.

Moments like this remind us how love can live on through generosity. Thank you, Ashley, for turning remembrance into kindness and for touching so many hearts, both human and canine. ❤️🐾
