💔 There was a moment we truly believed Valor wasn' 💔 There was a moment we truly believed Valor wasn't going to make it. When Valor arrived at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, he wasn't just injured—he was fighting for his life. This sweet community cat had suffered a devastating puncture wound that pierced through his skull and into his brain. Every hour was critical. Our veterinary team worked tirelessly to clean his wounds, manage his pain, administer antibiotics, and do everything possible to give him a chance to survive. Then came the neurological symptoms. There were moments when we feared we were losing him. But Valor wasn't ready to give up. The first time he started eating again, it felt like a miracle. Day by day, he grew stronger. His wounds slowly healed. His bright personality began to shine through, and before long, the cat we once feared we'd lose was asking for head rubs, rolling over for attention, and reminding us why we never stop fighting for animals like him. Today, Valor has just one final hurdle left. Despite months of healing, the fractured portion of his skull has not fully repaired itself. On July 22, specialists will perform an advanced bone grafting procedure to give Valor the healthy future he deserves. The cost of his surgery and ongoing medical care is $8,132. We've made the decision to move forward with his surgery because every animal deserves every chance to heal. Toffee is currently enrolled in training through our START program with the Dayton Dog Training Club, where she’s learning skills and showing off how eager she is to please. She already knows sit, down, come, and even has some impressive spins and turns! Toffee loves having fun, but she does have a confident play style. When playing with other dogs, especially smaller pups, she can be a little more dominant, so we recommend a meet and greet with any potential dog friends to make sure everyone’s vibes match. 🐶✨ With her joyful personality, loving heart, and eagerness to learn, Toffee would make a wonderful companion for a family ready to continue her training journey.
