Shelter life can be stressful for Simon, so he’s been spending time in a foster home while he waits for his forever family. Tomorrow, he’ll be coming to the shelter for the day as part of our foster pet pop-ins, giving you the chance to meet him in person without an appointment. Hundreds of people and their furry friends came to Hundreds of people and their furry friends came together on May 16, 2026, at St. Leonard CHI Living Communities for the Humane Society of Greater Dayton's Furry Skurry 5K! This annual event celebrates the special bond between people and pets while raising critical funds to support homeless animals throughout the Miami Valley. From runners and walkers to wagging tails and smiling faces, the day was filled with community spirit, compassion, and fun. Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, sponsored, and supported this year's event.
