This is why we scan every animal who comes into ou This is why we scan every animal who comes into our care for a microchip, even a stray momma cat with tiny kittens. ❤️🐾 Two years ago, there was a fire at an apartment complex. In the chaos, Jinxy made it out safely, but she was separated from her family. Her owner searched and never gave up hope, but she was gone for what turned into two very long years. Recently, she was brought to us after being found as a momma cat with her kittens, just trying to get by outside and care for her little family. When she arrived, we scanned her for a microchip… and she had one. Because of that tiny chip, everything changed in an instant. We were able to contact her owner, and what followed was an incredibly emotional reunion two years in the making. After all that time wondering, he finally got the news she was safe. And in a beautiful twist, he was able to welcome her kittens into his family too! Mom and babies stayed with us just long enough to be spayed, neutered, vaccinated, and get the babies microchipped, so they could all head home healthy and ready for their next chapter. ❤️ This is why microchipping your pet is so important. #MicrochipMatters #ReunitedAndItFeelsSoGood #PetSafety #CatRescue #HumaneSocietyOfGreaterDayton
