According to his very confident (and slightly biased) opinion, he is actually an “American Bowldog.” 🥣 Most dogs want a tennis ball. Some want a bone. Zazu? Zazu wants kitchenware. He doesn’t just play with his metal bowl, it is his lifestyle. It’s his emotional support object. It’s his percussion instrument of choice. If it’s round, metal, and makes a satisfying clank when it hits the floor, he is 100% committed. But here’s the thing, his love for that bowl is actually one of the most beautiful things about him. It is pure joy. He finds absolute magic in something so simple, and he carries it around like it is the most precious trophy in the world. 🏆 When he isn’t busy with his “music,” Zazu is the ultimate snuggler. He is that classic bulldog “leaner” who will press his whole self into you just to be close. He is silly, sturdy, affectionate, and ready to be someone’s constant companion. Bulldogs are beautiful because they are full of personality, heart, and humor, and Zazu is no exception. We’ve got another week of foster pet pop-ins, and We’ve got another week of foster pet pop-ins, and it’s a good one 👀 If you’ve been waiting for a chance to meet some of our foster pets without scheduling an appointment, this is it. ✨ Tilly: here TODAY until 5:30 PM ✨ Kodiak: back from foster tomorrow (4/22), hanging out at the front desk and then staying in kennels ✨ Hammy: back from foster Thursday (4/23), at the front desk and then staying in kennels ✨ Elle: popping in Friday (4/24) from 1:00 PM – 5:30 PM Kodiak and Hammy will be sticking around in kennels after their return, but Tilly and Elle will be heading back to their foster homes if they aren’t adopted on their pop-in days. 💔 188 DAYS. 💔 That is how long Eeyore has been wai 💔 188 DAYS. 💔 That is how long Eeyore has been waiting in the kennels. 188 days of watching other dogs go home. 188 days of wondering when it will finally be his turn. As our longest resident dog, Eeyore has now spent over half a year in a shelter environment. We are starting to see the toll it can take on him, and we need your help to change his story. When we found him, Eeyore had been abandoned after hours in a crate. No explanation. No goodbye. Just a dog in rough shape, completely alone, wondering what he did wrong. Eeyore doesn’t understand why he keeps getting overlooked. He just knows he’s here, waiting for someone to see past his healing skin and recognize the sweet senior boy underneath. Because underneath it all, he is something special. Eeyore is a total snuggler and professional lap dog who will happily climb right into you for love. At 8 years old, he offers a calm, steady, “soul-dog” kind of loyalty that only seniors can give. He is also incredibly smart, affectionate, and eager to connect. His skin and allergies are ongoing and will require continued vet care, consistency, and support as we continue to manage them. This is a long-term commitment, not a quick fix. He is also strong, has energy, and will need structure, enrichment, and someone confident in helping redirect him in positive ways. He struggles with separation anxiety and needs to be the only pet in the home (no other dogs or small animals). We know he is not the easiest dog. But he is absolutely worth it. He has been overlooked because he is older, a little rough around the edges, and needs more effort to thrive. He is a good dog who has been failed too many times. We are ready for someone to finally say yes to him. Because Eeyore is not asking for easy.
