When Levi first came to us through our Humane Soci When Levi first came to us through our Humane Society Agent, he was skinny, scared, and unsure of what the future held. In just a few short months, with consistent care, patience, and love, Levi has made an incredible recovery and truly looks like a completely different dog. His body has filled out, his eyes are brighter, and his gentle personality shines through. 💕 Recently, Levi visited @hidden_springs_of_springboro as part of our Pet Therapy Program, and everyone absolutely loved how sweet and gentle he was. Watching a dog who once knew hardship now bring comfort and smiles to seniors is incredibly special. 🐾💛 We are so grateful for community partners like Hidden Springs who help us share the love and comfort animals bring. Through our Pet Therapy Program, we’re proud to create those positive connections right here in the Dayton area while also helping shelter dogs gain confidence and socialization outside the shelter. For cats living outdoors, a warm, dry shelter can be the difference between making it through the cold or facing serious danger. 🐾 🛠️ How You Can Help Building an insulated shelter is a direct way to show compassion to the cats in your neighborhood. Using simple, affordable materials like plastic bins and straw, you can create a safe, cozy space that keeps wind and snow at bay. 🌨️ You can build a shelter for a cat you see regularly or make extra shelters to donate. They also went on a tour of our shelter, Pet cats in open cat room, and met some of our adoptable dogs! We love seeing young animal lovers making a difference in our community. These 33 animals came to us from one of the most s These 33 animals came to us from one of the most severe neglect cases we’ve ever seen. Many cats, a dog, and even an opossum were found living in filth, darkness, and extreme neglect, with some unable to move freely in cages layered with waste. From the moment they arrived at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, our veterinary team jumped into action. They received lifesaving care, treatment for infections, injuries, and parasites, and a safe space to finally rest. Watch their journey from despair to comfort. Soft bedding, fresh food, and clean spaces gave these animals relief for the first time in a very long time. 💛 Thanks to our community, these animals now have a second chance at recovery and one day a loving home.
